LAMARQUE 1995 *
Lovely colour for this 95, with a developing bouquet of small berries and
menthol, and a supple, rounded and velvety impression
on the palate backed up by solid tannins. "It
has everything going for it" notes a panel member.

LAMARQUE 1996 *
The terroir is high-quality, as is this wine which
turns out to be most pleasant - thanks to the finesse
of its bouquet with notes of toast and fruit - and promising
thanks to its balance and tannins, which still
have a little mellowing to do.

des VINS 2001: ( p. 349.)
LAMARQUE 1997
Simple, supple, fine and well-balanced, this
97 will not be a wine for long-term ageing, but,
drunk young, will be most pleasing.
GUIDE HACHETTE
des VINS 2002: ( p. 371.)
LAMARQUE 1998 *
Its elegance and balance (a well matured wine with good body) make it
a wine that will be good in two years and can be aged for around
ten years. The younger brother of Château
de Lamarque, Château Cap de Haut 98 gets a special mention.
It's ready.

LAMARQUE 1999 *
The qualities of this typically Médoc wine of character: Perfect presentation,
and a bouquet whose animal notes hint at its power on the palate.
Backed up by a powerful, aromatic tannic structure,
it is a very classical wine which will go very well
with meat dishes in around
five years time.
LAMARQUE 1998:
A great wine - powerful and complex, very harmonious
in the mouth, fleshy, very distinctive, good ageing
potential.
LAMARQUE 1997:
A great success for this wine with its ruby-red colour, perfectly
matured, fleshy, with mature tannins - rich and supple
with a good finish. Promising.
LAMARQUE 1996:
A deep ruby-red colour and aromas of overripe fruit,
spices and leather. Fleshy, well structured, and with
rich, flavoursome tannins. Good ageing
potential.
LAMARQUE 1995:
A superb wine - powerful, complex and harminious, with fruity notes.
Combines a good tannic base with
lasting finesse. A wine for laying down.
LAMARQUE 1994:
A great, classical wine, very full-bodied, powerful and and
concentrated, with powerful, silky tanins.
Long in the mouth, good ageing
potential.
LAMARQUE 1990:
An intense, colourful, ample wine combining structure
and suppleness, with rich tannins. Good ageing potential.

Lamarque 1999: * * * *
Intense garnet-black colour, a nose of vanilla, coffee, candied black fruit.
Dense in the mouth with flavours of liquorice and
black fruit. The mature, quite elegant tannins need to mellow
a little yet. Fleshy in the finish, slightly astringent;
needs a little more time.
Date: December 2002
Lamarque 2001: * * * *
This Cru Bourgeois offers a beautiful, classical robe, and quite a
discreeet nose. On the palate it has tannic structure and good
substance. A complete wine with good potential.
Length, maturity and good
intensity.

Lamarque 2000: (87 - 88)
The Lamarque 2000 is probably the most successful wine
I have seen from this Estate. This wine is
one of the revelations of the vintage, and stands out
by its dense ruby-red colour and its
generous fruitiness - wonderfully pure and precise - backed up
by gentle tannins.
Overall, it is medium-bodied and astonishingly
long-lasting. 2004-2012 .

Lamarque 1999: (86)
This excellent Cru Bourgeois charms by its roundness and generous aromas of blackberry and cherry nuanced by hints of burnt grass. The
overall impression, marked by spicy oak,
offers medium body in the mouth, lots of fruit
but also good balance. Drink
within 5 to 6 years.
